# Changelog: what we shipped and what we fixed, month by month

> Changes in Dashing in a shop owner's language: the free plan, a faster Dash, tax inside the books, year-end close — and every bug we found and fixed, in the open.

Dashing (dashing.krd) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

## September 2026: a free plan, and Dash five times faster

- Free and yearly plans: start free with no card; the yearly plan is 420,000 IQD. An upgrade button inside the app.
- 19 September: selling is never capped on any plan. The free plan is the whole shop for one branch, with its accounting and its users; the yearly plan adds branches, Dash at 100 messages an hour, and removes the "sent with Dashing" line. Every new shop starts on the yearly plan for 14 days with no card. Activation by a WhatsApp message, the same day.
- Dash answers in about 6 seconds instead of 29, and streams the answer as you read.
- Sales count the moment an invoice is confirmed, not at delivery; "today's sales" no longer reads zero while confirmed invoices wait for delivery.
- The public site in three languages at separate addresses (Arabic, /en, /ckb) with pages for features, shop types and comparisons.

## August 2026: the first real shop, and what we found

- We walked a real shop's full working day before launch and found what thousands of tests had not: the nightly backup was producing an empty file. Fixed, with an hourly check that alerts us if a backup is late.
- Every cash figure (the cash card, the cash-flow statement, what Dash sees) counted only the main branch's till, now all branches are included.
- A walk-in counter sale stayed "sent to warehouse" and never showed in the sales of the day although the books had it. Fixed, with a tool that completes the earlier sales.
- A voided invoice subtracted itself from the month's revenue (a −450% margin on a profitable shop). Fixed.
- Five list endpoints could return rows outside a shop's scope; found in our own audit and fixed the same day with a permanent test, before the service had customers.
- Error messages appear in your language instead of English, and five scheduled tasks (including asset depreciation) that never ran now run.

## July 2026: tax inside the books, and a real year-end close

- Tax is now part of the entry, not a column on the invoice: the sale entry splits tax from revenue, the VAT return is computed straight from the ledger, and purchases record input tax.
- Closing the fiscal year creates real closing entries that carry retained earnings forward, and the year can be reopened when needed.
- CSV import: one bad row no longer fails the whole file; it is skipped and reported.
- Recurring sales no longer skip periods when the sweep runs late, and no longer zero-rate tax.
- A shift belongs to the local day it opened on, so the end-of-day report no longer splits at the server's midnight.

## Key facts

- What: point-of-sale (cashier), inventory and double-entry accounting for retail shops.
- Where: Iraq (Baghdad-based); Arabic-first, with Kurdish (Sorani) and English interfaces.
- Offline: the cashier keeps selling without internet; sales sync automatically, exactly once.
- Money: the books are kept in one home currency chosen at sign-up — Iraqi dinar (IQD, 0 decimals) or US dollar; quotes can be priced in the other currency at the shop's own rate.
- AI: a built-in assistant, Dash, answers questions from the shop's own data and never changes anything without explicit approval.
- Plans: Free (0 IQD, no card) and Yearly (420,000 IQD, about 35,000 IQD/month) — unlimited invoices, full accounting, 14-day money-back, no auto-renewal.
- Website: https://dashing.krd/ (Arabic), https://dashing.krd/en (English), https://dashing.krd/ckb (Kurdish).

## What Dashing does not do

- Restaurant table service or kitchen display systems (cafés and quick-service counters are supported; tables are not).
- Electronic invoicing to a tax authority (no e-invoicing in Iraq today).
- Bank feeds (Iraqi banks have no public API); bank reconciliation is manual statement matching.
- A pharmacy drug database or prescriptions (expiry/batch tracking is supported).
