# The cashier in Kurdish in Erbil, the accounting in Arabic in Baghdad, on the same account.

> Every screen and every receipt in Arabic, Sorani Kurdish or English; each user picks their own. Right-to-left, Western digits. The Kurdish awaits native review.

Dashing (dashing.krd) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

Canonical: https://dashing.krd/en/features/languages

Dashing is written in Arabic first, with Sorani Kurdish and English at the same level: every text in the interface exists in all three languages, and right-to-left layout is native to the design. Each user picks their own language, so the cashier in Ankawa works in Kurdish while the accountant in Karrada works in Arabic, on the same data.

## A language per user

The language is picked from the globe menu at the top of the screen and stays on the device. Categories and ledger accounts have a name in Arabic, Kurdish and English, so each user sees their own; an item's name is written once, as the shop writes it, in any language. Digits are Western (0 to 9) in all three languages, so they read the same on the printer, the barcode and the calculator.

## The receipt and the statement

The receipt prints in the interface language of whoever prints it, and the statement goes out in the language of whoever sends it. There is no language field on the customer card; for a customer who reads Kurdish, switch the interface language before printing or sending. The typeface covers every Sorani letter: ڕ ڵ ۆ ێ ژ چ پ گ.

## Why Kurdish

Most shop software is in English or translated Arabic, and few products support Sorani at all. The .krd domain is part of the name because the Kurdistan Region has been a primary market for Dashing from the start. The translation was not handed to a machine: the texts were written in all three languages, and the Kurdish is currently awaiting review by a native speaker.

## What it does not do

Sorani Kurdish only, in the Arabic script; no Kurmanji in the Latin script. An item's name is in one language, the shop's. No customer language field: the receipt is in the language of whoever prints it. The Kurdish strings await native review.

## Common questions

### Can the cashier work in Kurdish and the owner in Arabic?

Yes, on the same account and the same data; each picks their language on the screen and it stays on their device.

### Is the receipt in Kurdish?

Yes, if the interface of whoever prints it is in Kurdish: printed right-to-left in a typeface that covers the Sorani letters. It does not change by customer.

### Does Dash answer in Kurdish?

Yes, in the interface language you choose.
