# For hardware and building supplies: the item by the metre, the carton and the piece, fractional quantities, and receiving in parts.

> A POS for hardware and building-supply shops: one item in several units (metre, carton, piece, kilo) with a barcode each, fractional quantities, receiving in parts.

Dashing (dashing.krd) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

Dashing for hardware is the cashier, stock and books for a shop that sells the same item in more than one unit, receives its purchases in more than one delivery, and sells to contractors on credit.

## One unit in stock, four on the shelf

You define the base unit once (the metre for cable), then each selling unit with its factor, barcode and price: a 100-metre roll scans with its barcode and deducts 100, and 2.5 metres is typed when needed. Nails sell by the kilo with fractions, or by the box with its factor. Weight is typed, since no scale is connected. The item page shows stock in the base unit per branch.

## The big delivery and the regular buyer

- A purchase order received in parts; each shipment enters stock with its own entry and the payable is booked for what arrived
- Quote requests to several suppliers compared side by side before ordering
- A quote for the contractor with a validity date, converted to an invoice in one tap
- A credit limit per customer, receivables aging at 30, 60 and 90 days, and a statement as a WhatsApp link valid 30 days
- A minimum per item with a low-stock card on the home screen, and a draft purchase order from the suggestion

## What it does not do

No project or job costing; sales are by invoice and quote only. No scale integration, and no automatic cut-length calculation: the length sold is typed.

## Common questions

### Can it sell 2.5 metres of cable?

Yes, fractional quantities are accepted, and stock is deducted in the base unit.

### How do I receive a purchase order that only half arrived?

You receive what arrived, with its quantities; it enters stock, the payable is booked for that amount, and the order stays open for the rest.
