# Creating your account and business in Dashing

> From the sign-up page to your first products: three quick questions about trade, currency and selling style, then four fields for the account.

## Steps

1. Open the sign-up page from the start button on the site, or from the "Create your business" link on the sign-in screen.
2. Answer the first question, "What kind of shop is this?" — groceries, clothing, pharmacy, mobile… or "Other activity". This sets sensible defaults (batches and expiry dates for a pharmacy, for example).
3. Answer "Which currency do your prices live in?": "Iraqi Dinar (IQD)" for almost every shop, "US Dollar (USD)" for a business that keeps its books in dollars, or "IQD · USD side-by-side" (dinars as the home currency, dollars for quotes later).
4. Answer "How do sales usually happen at your counter?": "Scan & Go" for a grocery or phone-shop queue, or "Invoice-based" for clothing, electronics and wholesale. This picks the default sell mode; you can switch it from the sell screen any time.
5. Fill in "Business name", "Email", "Phone number" and "Password" (at least 8 characters), accept the Terms of Use, then press "Create my business".
6. The "Add your first products" page opens: type what you sell most (name, price, and how many you have now), load a ready list for your kind of shop, or import a file. More in [add a product](/help/add-a-product) and [import products from a CSV file](/help/import-products-from-csv).

## What is created automatically

A main branch named after your business, a full double-entry chart of accounts, a cash drawer for the branch, and an owner account with every permission. No accountant is needed to set any of it up.

## What the system does not do

- It does not send a confirmation email or a password-reset email today; if you lose your password, contact us on WhatsApp from the [contact page](/contact).
- It does not change the home currency after sign-up.

## Common questions

**Do I need a card or a payment to start?**

No. The free plan starts the moment the account is created, with no card and no time limit; you can move to the yearly plan later from Settings.

**Can the home currency be changed after sign-up?**

No. The home currency (dinar or dollar) is pinned at sign-up because every ledger entry is written in it. The dollar as a second currency is enabled later from Settings.
