# A statement of account ready to print, with the balance worked out after every entry.

> Make a statement of account for a customer or supplier: balance brought forward, each entry with its running balance, the closing balance and a line to confirm it. Free.

Dashing (dashing.krd) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

Pick a customer or a supplier and type what happened on their account, in the order it happened. The page does the arithmetic and lays the result out as a document you can print, keep in Excel or send on WhatsApp. If you keep your debts in the debt book on this site, it fills in from there with one tap.

## What a statement of account shows

The heading carries the shop's name and phone, then the other side's name and the period. The first line is the balance brought forward: what was owed before the period began. Every entry after it shows its date and details with the invoice or receipt number, the amount under debit or under credit, and the balance once that entry is counted. At the foot come the two column totals and the closing balance, with room for the other side to sign if they agree.

## Debit and credit on a customer's and a supplier's statement

On a customer's statement, the debit column is what they took on credit and the credit column what they paid, and the balance is what they still owe. On a supplier's statement the sides swap: the credit column is what you bought from them, the debit column what you paid them, and the balance is what you still owe them. A negative balance means the other side has paid ahead, and the page says so next to the figure.

## Confirming the balance

Many shops send a statement to their larger customers and to their suppliers at the end of a month or a year, so both sides agree the figure before any difference grows. The confirmation block at the bottom asks the other side to check the statement and sign to agree the balance, or to tell you what differs. You can leave it off when the statement is only for their information.

## Statements in Dashing

In Dashing nobody types the statement: it is built for every customer and every supplier from the sales and purchases already recorded, with every payment against them, and it saves as a PDF or goes out as a WhatsApp link that stays valid for 30 days. Each morning the program prepares a list of the customers whose oldest unpaid sale is a week old, so the shop can send each of them the statement with one tap.

## Common questions

### What is the difference between a statement and an invoice?

An invoice records one sale. A statement brings together every invoice and payment on a customer's or supplier's account over a period, and shows the balance after each one and what is left at the end.

### What goes in the balance brought forward?

What was due on the account before the statement's first day, which is the closing balance of the last statement you sent. Type it negative if the balance was in the other side's favour. When the statement is filled from the debt book, the balance brought forward is worked out from the book.

### Is the statement saved?

It stays in this browser until you press "New statement". Keep a PDF or an Excel copy of each statement you send, to come back to.

### Can I send it on WhatsApp?

Yes. Type their phone and their chat opens with the statement written in it line by line, or save it as a PDF from the print window and send the file.
