# Drawer close template: know what should be in the drawer before you count.

> A daily drawer sheet: opening cash, cash/card/credit sales, collections, expenses from the drawer, then the expected amount and the variance after the count. Free.

Dashing (dashing.krd) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

One row per day: opening cash, sales by tender, collections and expenses from the drawer; the sheet computes the expected amount (opening + cash + collections − expenses), then you enter the count and the variance appears. Card and credit sales are recorded but never enter the drawer.

## Columns

- **Expected in drawer**: Opening + cash sales + collections − expenses from the drawer.
- **Variance**: Counted − expected: positive is over, negative is short.

## Common questions

### Why are card sales not part of the expected amount?

Because the money went to the bank, not the drawer. Including it would show a phantom shortage at the count.
