Drawer close template: know what should be in the drawer before you count.
One row per day: opening cash, sales by tender, collections and expenses from the drawer; the sheet computes the expected amount (opening + cash + collections − expenses), then you enter the count and the variance appears. Card and credit sales are recorded but never enter the drawer.

When the sheet stops being enough
The sheet believes whatever the cashier writes. In Dashing the shift belongs to the drawer, the blind count hides the expected amount until the count is confirmed, and the variance is booked automatically.
Common questions
Why are card sales not part of the expected amount?
Because the money went to the bank, not the drawer. Including it would show a phantom shortage at the count.
