Branches

Several branches on one account: each with its own stock, drawer and profit, and the owner sees them all together.

Dashing treats every branch as a complete shop inside one account: its stock, its drawers and shifts, its cost of goods sold and its profit, with one consolidated set of books for the owner. There is no cap on the number of branches on either plan. A staff member sees only their branch; the owner sees every branch and compares them on the home screen every morning.

Two branches at the sample shop

The sample shop, Al-Noor Grocery, has two branches: the main branch in Karrada and the Erbil branch in Ankawa. The morning summary card shows yesterday's sales per branch: Karrada 447,000 dinars and Ankawa 377,750, 824,750 in total. The cash figure of 8,598,810 dinars combines both branches' drawers and the bank. The income statement can be read for both branches together or for either one alone, selected from the branch list.

What each branch has of its own

  • An independent quantity per item, with cost of goods sold computed from that branch's own purchases
  • A cash drawer and shifts per branch, with their own shift report and drawer variance
  • Accounting entries tagged with the branch, so the income statement comes out per branch and in total from the same books
  • A staff member's permissions are limited to their branch: they see no other branch's sales or stock unless you grant it

Transfers between branches

The branch manager creates the transfer; it becomes "in transit", with the quantity visible as pending between the two branches, until the other branch receives it or it is cancelled. Approval by the owner or the accountant can be required before the goods leave. A transfer that stays in transit for more than 3 days shows as a card on the home screen. And when an item runs out in one branch and sits unsold in another, the system suggests the transfer itself.

What it does not do

All branches live inside one account and one currency; there is no multi-company setup with separate books under one owner. The cycle count works on the item's total quantity, not per branch. Syncing between branches needs internet.

Common questions

Does each branch pay a separate subscription?

No. The subscription is per account, and the number of branches is not capped on the free plan or the yearly plan (420,000 IQD a year).

Can branch staff see other branches' sales?

No, unless you grant it. Every user is limited to the screens and branches you allow.

Does a branch work without internet?

The cashier, yes: sales are saved on the branch's device and uploaded when the connection returns. Seeing other branches' stock and transferring between them needs a connection.
