Creating an offer or promo code and applying it at the till

From pricing & offers: "New offer" as a percentage, fixed amount or buy-get, with a promo code, period and minimum cart, then the code at checkout.

Offers are managed in one place and applied at the till automatically or by code, and the discount shows as its own line on the invoice and in the books.

Steps

  1. Open "Pricing & offers" and press "New offer".
  2. Write the "Name (Arabic)" (and its translations if you like), and choose the "Type": "Percent off cart", "Fixed amount off cart", or "Buy-get" (buy X get Y free).
  3. Enter the "Value" ("Percent (%)" or "Amount (IQD)"), and a "Minimum cart (IQD)" if you want a floor.
  4. Under "Schedule & targeting (optional)": write the "Promo code" if it should activate by code, "Start date"/"End date" for the period, and "Customer group" to target a segment (VIP, say).
  5. Press "Activate", then "Save". The offer appears under "Active offers".
  6. At the till: automatic offers apply when the cart is complete; a code is typed into "Promo code (optional)" before "Charge".

What happens in the books

The discount is recorded on the invoice as a discount, not as a lower original price, so margin reports stay correct and you know what each offer cost you.

What the system does not do

It does not send codes to customers and does not generate one-off vouchers per customer; one code per offer.

Common questions

The code is not accepted at checkout.
"Code not valid" appears when the offer is off, outside its period, the cart is below the minimum, or the customer is outside the targeted group.
Can more than one offer apply to the same cart?
The best one for the customer among the automatic offers applies, plus one code entered by hand.
